With a history dating back to the late 18th century, Broadalbin, New York, is located in the eastern part of the state and played a role in the American Revolution, housing fortifications at Castle Cumberland. Positioned at the southern end of Great Sacandaga Lake in the Adirondack region, Broadalbin remains a popular tourist destination, known for its natural beauty, recreational boating, and fishing, especially during the summer months.
During the late 19th century, Broadalbin experienced significant prosperity as part of the United States Industrial Revolution. The area's abundant hydropower attracted manufacturing facilities, fueling economic growth and urban development.
