Obama also ordered Operation Neptune Spear, a military action that resulted in the death of 9/11 architect Osama Bin Laden, which represented a significant victory for the United States in the war against terror and a major international event. Obama was also instrumental in ordering military involvement in Libya,, which resulted in the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi,, who had ruled Libya from 1969 until his assassination in 2011.
