Are these original prints or reproductions?

HISTORIC PRINTS® sells reproductions of maps and photographs from scans of original, historical prints.
At this time, we do not sell original prints.
We specialize in lightly restoring old maps and photographs while keeping its historical character. Some of our restoration to old maps and photographs include digitally stitching tears and fold lines. Removing stains, stamps and other markings, as well as color correction, color grinding and alignment correction.
Available print sizes can be found on each product page. Most of our historic prints are formatted to fit easy-to-find standard frame sizes. This saves you money from having to purchase a custom frame.
Historic Print sizes include appoximately 0.2” white border. Best for matting and framing.
Depending on our current workload, we may offer custom requests. Please contact us if you have a custom request.
HISTORIC PRINTS® or HISTORIX® brand watermarks seen on website images are not included in the final print. You will receive a watermark-free print for optimal display.
Maps are printed on professional-grade photo matte paper. Ultra-smooth, non-reflective, 11mil thickness and 232 gsm. Stretched canvas wrapped prints are printed on 65% cotton 35% polyester blend canvas. It has a satin and gloss finish, 20mil thickness and 400gsm. Photographs are printed on professional-grade semi-gloss finish photo paper. It has outstanding color saturation for vivid prints. 10mil thickness and 240gsm
Not at this time. Our Historic Prints are available online through our website historicprints.com and can be found on other popular online marketplaces.
We ship our Historic Prints in a rigid cardboard tube to protect from creases. We typically use the United States Postal Service (USPS) for shipping. Sometimes we may ship with UPS or FedEx.
We offer a limited amount of framed and stretched canvas wrapped options or many of our popular prints. You can find these options in our Framed and Canvas Wrapped catalogs on the website.
Unframed print orders are usually shipped the same or next day. Shipments generally arrive within 3-5 days, though shipping times for Historic Prints can vary.
Giclee prints are fine art reproductions using archival quality ink and paper/canvas with high-quality printing equipment and technology. Giclee is the industry standard for Art Reproduction.
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it. To start a return, you can contact us at info@historicprints.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. You can always contact us for any return question at info@historicprints.com.
